I really can’t handle the thought of Korra being unable to connect with her past lives. I can’t comprehend the ‘logic’ behind completely shattering the mythological foundations of this series. I really do hope Korra somehow connects with her past lives. I CAN’T COPE WITH THIS.
I bet Unalaq knocking down Avatar Aang’s statue was a way for the writers to say “YUP. FUCK YOUR FEELINGS, BITCH. NO MORE PAST AVATARS.”
i guess my philosophy is that a well-written sequel should not have to throw its past mythology out the window to force audiences to like the new stuff. if these writers really could not make korra her own character without basically erasing the foundation of the avatar premise,…

UGH. ~~~ REALLY LONG RANT about Aang being a bad father, some god damnit Bryke, and some f~~k you Pierrot. Feel free to completely skip over it.
I just wanted to post my beef with Aang being a bad father here and some of my other beef with this Book because I have nowhere else to post it and it’s all in my head and it needs to come out somewhere.
First of all, I’m really trying my best to not be ‘biased’ as Aang is my favourite character.
I expect him to have flaws. Hell, I want him to have flaws, I don’t envision him on the f~~king God pedestal of endless perfectness and flawlessness. He’s human. Of course he isn’t flawless, but they spent A:TLA showing us who his character was. Aang knew what it was like to be excluded, hell, he lived it when he was at the Southern Air Temple as a child, after he found out he was the Avatar, all the other kids basically decided he was too OP to play. If anything, it’s completely OUT of Aang’s character to completely exclude Kya and Bumi.
It’s not like Aang would have had a lot of free time on his hands, he was the f~~king Avatar. It’s impossible to to try and comprehend the responsibilities and stress he would have, so thinking about that alone, we can already assume he isn’t going to be the f~~king perfect father, but are we seriously expected to believe that for years and years Aang neglected Kya and Bumi and solely favoured Tenzin? Even to the point where, after Aang had died, Bumi and Kya still had daddy issues with Aang because he was apparently such a f~~king s~~t father to them?
It’s not like Aang would have intentionally excluded Kya and Bumi because he’s simply an a~~hole like that. Aang obviously knew that after he died, Tenzin would be the last Airbender. He knew the kind of stress that Tenzin would have to go through, he knew the weight and pressure that would fall right onto Tenzin’s shoulders as soon as he died because Aang had lived through it himself, so he had to train him, he had to make him the best motherf~~king Airbender he could be. OBVIOUSLY Aang isn’t going to pay 100% attention to all three.
But we.. are expected to believe that for DECADES Aang neglected his other two children, to the point that even now Kya seems to hate her own father for it? Even 20 years after his death?
I read this on tumblr (at avataraang’s blog) but I agree with it so much I can’t help but sort of re-iterate it; we are expected to think that it is realistic that Katara simply sat idly by while Aang, her husband, neglected his own children and ran off with Tenzin? We’re expected to believe that if Aang was being, as Kya is apparently saying, the worst f~~king father ever that Katara didn’t put Aang back in line? Bull s~~t!
I sincerely hope that Kya is over-exaggerating how terrible of a father Aang was and is letting the time that has gone by cloud her memory because this just seems unbelievable and poorly thought out.
Also, DEAR BRYKE EVEN THOUGH YOU’LL NEVER EVER SEE THIS: PLEASE Stop treating Bolin’s character like a piece of f~~king s~~t, tossing him around like he has no place in the story and is just there for comic relief. Boleska is obviously out the window and Mike has already s~~t on the possibility of Bosami being an idea (thanks for not letting the fandom ship ._.) so what is going to happen to Bolin? His character deserves a proper relationship and I feel like his character is just being trashed when it could be so better utilized. It’s frustrating and it makes me want to gauge my eyes out with a f~~king spoon.
Speaking of gauging my eyes out with a f~~king spoon, I’m seriously considering it after seeing the *AMAZING* job done by Studio f~~king Pierrot.
Fuck you, Pierrot.
We’re three chapters in and I’m more pissed off than I am intrigued.
Aang being the worst father ever is illogical and out of his character. Bolin’s character shouldn’t be treated like the sack of s~~t that it’s being treated like and fuck you, Pierrot.
